Argentine ace Lionel Messi claims the departure Neymar to Ligue 1 side PSG has brought positive development to the current Barcelona squad.
The attacking trio formed by Messi, Suarez and Neymar (MSN), was the most feared attacking force in Spain and world football during their spell together at Barcelona.
These players were a joy to watch at their peak and seem unmatchable on their day.
Their best moment was 2014/15 campaign when Barcelona won their last Treble (Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey ).
The trio netted a total of 122 goals during the spell. As Messi and Suarez remained at Camp Nou, Neymar made a world record move of €222 to PSG ending MSN era but began a new one a Ligue 1.
Messi told World Soccer recently how the team has grown without the Brazilian playmaker and how they have evolved defensively.
“Neymar’s departure has changed our way of playing. We lose lots of attacking potential but it helped us in a defensive sense. Right now we’re very well armed in the centre of the pitch. We have more balance.”
Barca are in a commanding position on top of La Liga table with 11 points ahead of Atletico Madrid in 2nd spot.
They are on course to secure their 25th league title this season while their major rivals Real Madrid is in 4th spot.
