Liverpool vs Manchester United
English Premier League, Week 8
Date: Saturday 14th October 2017
Liverpool haven’t lived up to expectation so far on this campaign despite holding on to Philippe Coutinho and bringing in Salah. They are still performing below par.
The Reds went into the break with a 1-1 draw away against Newcastle United to extend their poor form. They have just a win out of their last 7 games in all competitions, with 4 draws and 2 defeats.
The Anfield team have been average this season with 5 wins, 5 draws and 2 defeats. They are already out of the League Cup and poorly positioned in the Champions League group. Also their star man Sadio Mane is out again for up to 6 weeks on hamstring injury sustained on international duty. This will put a lot of pressure on other key players Coutinho, Salah and Firmino.
To be frank, Liverpool have few problems up front, having scored in all except 2 of their games this season. They have 20 goals in 12 games but have kept clean sheets twice.
Meanwhile the Manchester United are hoping to take advantage of Liverpool woes and they are capable of doing so. The Red Devils have scored 32 goals in 10 games this season, having failed to net just once and have won all except one.
United have started impressively this season and are in the 2nd spot of the Premier League table. Also they are leading their Champions League group table.
A lot of the goals have been scored by the new striker Romelu Lukaku. The player has been living up to expectations, having scored 10 goals in 9 games for the team. He is in an incredible form at the moment and we expect him to net again in this game.
Liverpool vs Manchester United: Prediction
The away team have been a solid side in defense this season, but Stoke City exposed their weakness at bet 365 stadium in the 2-2 draw. Liverpool may not be seen as a huge attacking team but they have scored in all their games at Anfield this season. However Liverpool defense may not be able to contain United’s strong attacking force.
We are expecting the two sides to get on the score sheet but we are going for a Draw in this game as their last 3 meetings at Anfield have ended in draw. Also Liverpool have been involved in a lot of draws so far this season.
